# Contact support

> Send feedback or report a problem, including the details support needs and optional diagnostics.

**1. Open Send Feedback**

Open **Settings** → **About** and select **Send feedback**, or choose **Send Feedback…** from the **Help** menu.

**2. Describe the problem**

Choose **Bug Report** and write your message. Add your email if you want a reply.

**3. Include diagnostics**

Tick **Include diagnostics**, then select **Review what's included** and read it. Sightline won't send the diagnostics until you have opened them.

**4. Send**

Tick the box confirming there are no student names or identifying information, then select **Send Feedback**.

## What to write

* What you were doing.
* What you expected to happen.
* What happened instead.
* The exact text of any message.
* The method and its timing settings, if it happened while recording.

Leave student names out of your message and out of any screenshot.

## What diagnostics include

The app and operating system version, your plan, the state of Local AI, model and database statistics, and recent log activity. The log activity lists event types and times with the message text removed, so it carries no student names, notes, or observations.

## Good to know

Don't email or attach Sightline's log files. They can contain student names, notes, or observations. Send feedback with diagnostics instead.

You can also email [support@sightlinebehavior.com](mailto:support@sightlinebehavior.com). Help → Contact Support opens a message to that address.

If Sightline can't start at all, it shows "Sightline couldn't start" with an error message. Email that message to the same address.
