# Copy into another document

> Copy a table, chart, section, or your write-up text into Word, Google Docs, or a report template.

## Copy a table, chart, or section

**1. Open the export**

In **Results**, select **Export**, then **Document…**. For several observations, start from **Sessions** instead. See [Export a report](https://docs.sightlinebehavior.com/exporting.md).

**2. Copy the item**

On the left, keep the item checked, then select the copy button at the right end of its row.

**3. Paste it**

Paste into your document. A table pastes as a table, and a chart pastes as an image.

To copy the whole document's text and tables at once, select Copy text at the upper right. Charts aren't included; copy each one from its row.

## Copy your write-up text

In the [write-up](https://docs.sightlinebehavior.com/writeup-workspace.md), open Export and choose Copy Formatted to paste into Word or Google Docs with its formatting, or Copy Plain for text only.

## Good to know

The document you paste into may change fonts, spacing, or table layout. Check the result before you send it.

What you paste is a copy. It doesn't change when you correct the observation later, and Sightline doesn't encrypt it. Store the document as you would any report.
