Edit student details

1

Change a field

Click a value, or Add beside an empty field. The fields are Name, Pronouns, Grade, School, and Teacher. Press Return or Enter, or click away, to keep the change. Esc drops it.
2

Save

Changed fields are marked, and a line below says how many edits are not saved. Select Save to save them all, or Revert to discard them.
Exported reports print the student’s grade, school, and teacher at the top. See Export a report.

Set the student’s pronouns

Choose he/him, she/her, or they/them, or leave Pronouns as Not set. Sightline’s AI model uses the saved pronouns when it writes about the student in a summary or write-up. If none are saved, Sightline asks first, using the student’s first name: “How should the draft refer to Sam?” Your choice is saved to the Case File. Closing the question cancels the draft. Set pronouns here ahead of time to skip the question. See Draft and revise with AI. Summaries Sightline writes without AI use the student’s first name or “the student”, never a pronoun.

Add or edit background information

Background is a free-text note for placement, prior evaluations, and anything else worth keeping with the case. Select Write to start it, or click the note to change it, then select Save. Background saves separately from the student details. Save each section you change before you leave the Case File.

Good to know

Behavior definitions and ABC tags saved for this student are in the Library, not the Case File. See Reuse observation setups.
