Use Compare to examine one student’s results across observations. You can look for changes over time, compare settings, and review recurring ABC sequences while keeping the individual session records available. Compare is available with Starter, Pro, or an active Pro trial.

Choose the observations

Open the student and select Sessions. Select Compare to work across the student’s active observations. To use a smaller set, select at least two sessions in the list, then choose Compare from the selection controls. Check the dates and sessions included before interpreting the figures. If you need a different set, return to Sessions and select it there.

Read the figures alongside the records

Compare offers the views supported by the selected observations:
  • Trend shows measurements over time. Interval percentages, Frequency rates, Duration episode lengths, and Latency times use separate measures. Read the chart’s label and units before comparing points.
  • Setting groups measurements by setting. It appears when the data supports comparison across settings. Where activity data is available, By activity offers another grouping.
  • ABC shows recorded sequences of antecedents and consequences. Use it to examine which sequences recur and how often they were recorded.
When several behaviors are present, select a behavior name to focus the view on it. Select All to return to the combined view. Peers, where available, adds the recorded peer comparison. The Session record table below the figures lets you trace a result back to an observation. Select a session to open its record. Review the recorded entries, definitions, and circumstances when a point differs from the surrounding observations. If you correct an observation, return to the student’s Sessions and reopen Compare so it loads the updated record.

Read changes across phases

Intervention phases recorded in the student’s Case File provide context for changes over time. Where phase controls are available, select a phase to focus on it. In the ABC view, All returns to observations across phases. Before interpreting a difference between phases or settings, check that the behavior definitions, recording methods, observation lengths, and conditions are comparable. A difference can reflect how or when observations were made. An ABC sequence describes what happened before and after a behavior; it does not establish why the behavior occurred.

Export a comparison report

Select Export at the top of Compare, then Export document… to open the export workspace with the compared sessions. Its contents may differ from the chart or behavior selection currently displayed. Choose where to save the file, then open it to check the contents and layout.
